Sandra LaBella, PT, is the proud owner Evoke Physical Therapy and Wellness Center, LLC. She has owned and operated a private practice since 2003. Her holistic based practice specializes in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, Pregnancy, Postpartum, Manual Orthopedics and Health Coaching.
Sandra LaBella, PT, received her physical therapy education through the State University of New York at Buffalo and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1997. Her experience includes working at two of the top Long Island hospitals gaining experience in all phases of physical therapy including acute care, rehabilitation, outpatient and home services. Being drawn to manually based orthopedics, she began her pursuits as an outpatient physical therapist with eventual Director of Physical Therapy position. Her dedication to quality care and commitment to her patients inspired her to open her own practice in 2003.
Learning from and listening to the needs of her patients led the path of her career. Her physical therapy continuing education has focused on manual therapy of the spine, orthopedics, pelvic girdle, pelvic floor and urogenital systems. In 2001, she began advanced coursework in pelvic floor physical therapy for the treatment of male and female pelvic floor disorders through the American Physical Therapy Association. In 2002 she became certified as a Preparation in Childbirth Educator and Prenatal and Postnatal Fitness Educator through Healthy Dimensions. Understanding how stressful and emotional bowel and bladder problems can be, after becoming a mother, Sandra felt compelled to help children too. In 2017, she obtained additional continuing education through Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute for Pediatric Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
Integrating a whole body approach to healing has greatly deepened Sandra’s awareness of her patients' needs. Her personal journey and pelvic floor physical therapy specialty has driven her passionately to learn about other impacts on body healing including nutritional whole foods and environmental health. In 2015, Sandra became a Wellness and Health Coach further integrating the body, mind and wellness approach. To her, having dedicated time just to talk, listen and support a client’s journey in reaching their goals is a fundamental part of healing. In 2017, she obtained her certification as a Certified GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) Practitioner through Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. The GAPS Nutritional Program focuses on removing foods that are difficult to digest and damaging to the glut flora and replacing them with nutrient-dense whole foods to give the intestinal lining a chance to heal and seal. Sandra also enthusiastically blogs creating additional avenues for patient education and empowerment. In her blog, she shares her "Whole Food Momma" recipes for delicious meals and snacks as well as physical therapy related articles and resources. "Offering services for the whole person is an amazing experience and I believe truly helpful in one's progression."
